The New Tudor Black Bay – A Sophisticated Vision Of The Black Bay Aesthetic

The new in-house manufacture calibre Tudor black bay watch is a classic. Since its debut at Watches and Wonders 2023, the sleek new dial colors of Blue, Anthracite and Light Champagne (each available with or without diamonds) have brought a retro-inspired modern twist to the collection.

Now with a 5-link style bracelet, the Black Bay 31, 36, 39 and 41 models bring a unique aesthetic to the Black Bay line. Their curved cases offer a language that slightly departs from the brand’s iconic tool watch spirit to embrace a sophisticated, versatile, unisex chic.

This model of the Black Bay line, in steel with a fixed bezel, features a combination of satin-brushed and high polished details, giving a subtle elegance of style. All fitted with Manufacture Calibres, the models come in four sizes, complete with a robust bracelet and clasp in 316L steel with TUDOR “T-fit” rapid adjustment system for on-the-fly size changes. Easy to use, requiring no tools and offering five positions, this practical system allows the wearer to carry out a fine, instant adjustment of up to 8mm on the clasp.

Every TUDOR watch is assembled and fully tested to TUDOR’s superior standards and at the brand’s new watch Manufacture, located in Le Locle, Neuchâtel Canton, Switzerland, close to the Swiss-French border. This is the first industrial facility fully dedicated to the TUDOR watchmaking company in its 100-year history. This new state-of-the-art facility, bringing together the know-how of watchmakers with the best in production management and automated testing systems, was completed in 2021 after three years of construction.

All decked out in TUDOR red, the Manufacture spans over four levels totaling 5,500 square meters and is physically and visually connected to the neighboring Kenissi Manufacture, the TUDOR movement production facility founded in 2016. With Kenissi and a network of TUDOR-owned affiliates, the brand has been able to integrate the development and production of high-performance mechanical calibers. Consequently, TUDOR now fully masters the manufacturing of strategic components and can guarantee their quality. All the brand’s watches are manufactured in Switzerland under its control to ensure the exceptional quality of its timepieces.

Because of their proven reliability and affordability, throughout their history, TUDOR watches have been chosen by the boldest adventurers on land, underwater, and on ice. Today, the TUDOR collection includes emblematic models such as Pelagos, Black Bay, 1926, and Royal. Since 2015, TUDOR has also offered mechanical Manufacture Calibres with superior performance, such as the TUDOR Manufacture Calibre MT5612, which powers the Pelagos.
